got my sister's player. had a time hookin it up cuz i got a satellite, which feeds the vcr, which feeds the mixer, which feeds the sound system. the problem was first, i couldnt find my video cable - that yellow ended bugger was under the couch. then it was the space between the video port and the audio ports was greater than the video cable's audio connections were. so i had to split up the audio. well, that's hardly a piece of cake when you have satellite, mixer, sound system, vcr with no manual and a remote that got added to the box after it got to wal-mart. dont EVER go to wal-mart. they buy shit at rediculously low prices, and get the bottom of the barrel. everything i have ever bought there, that could be returned, went back. but i had to be out there today for my d vee deez. so, to stay political.... read some google. finally, mainstream is able to say what i want to say..

jeee, i didnt know anybody else noticed. junior l. wohlenhaus in atlantic did tho. good eye there junior.

ayup. its health care day today down there. we have a poopy selection to play for you now, from karen lonsdale in stuart. i dont know where stuart is, but who cares.
DesMoinesRegister
National health care will do nothing except raise taxes and further dictate where, when and how the patient secures services. Will people not learn that bigger is not better? Will we not learn that the federal government is an institution composed of inefficiency? You think we have it bad now, just wait.

do crystal balls come in poopyhead kits?
steven r. hull, from clive (a sub of des moines), writes a letter to the editor at the register. just had to quote it here. it must be health-care day today down there. *shrug*. its good, but not good enough ... every day should be health-care day until its fixed.

DesMoinesRegister
The American health-care crisis is being exacerbated by doctors ordering procedures for defensive purposes and by prescribing useless medications, rather than making the effort to inform patients.
i've been an advocate of health-care reform since god knows when. if ever there was a broken system in this country, it is the health-care system. people often compare the american system to that of her neighbor's in canada. but here are some cold hard facts, reported today in the des moines register. mind you, des moines is probably the best city in the nation that knows insurance.

DesMoinesRegister.com | Opinion
Here are some comparisons between the United States and Canada.
* In 1996, Canada spent $2,002 per capita on health care.
* In 1996, the U.S. spent $3,708 per capita on health care.
* The Canadian government provides health care for every citizen.
* The U.S. government provides health care for about one-fourth of its citizens. Another one-sixth, or 41 million Americans, have no health insurance. The rest purchase coverage on their own or through employers.
* In 1995, the life expectancy for a Canadian male was 75.3 years. For every 1,000 live births in Canada, six infants die.
* In 1995, the average American male could enjoy life for 72.5 years. For every 1,000 live births in the United States, eight babies die.
Canada spends less, insures all its people and enjoys better life expectancies and infant mortality rates than Americans.

language we need here in mason city. thank god santa monica, claremont, and davis passed it.

Petaluma refuses to OK Patriot Act resolution
Former City Council members Janet Cader-Thompson and Matt Maguire urged the council to adopt the resolution, which would have provided that "to the extent legally possible, no city employee or department shall officially or voluntarily cooperate with investigations, interrogations or arrest procedures" that violate the Constitution.
suckholes, calling all suckholes. your emporer demands your obedience.

Mark Latham, who already accused Mr Howard of being an "arselicker" of the Bush Administration and described this visit as "a conga line of suckholes" heading to Washington
on requiring iowa school children to recite the pledge of alliegiance. while i'm all for the effort of teaching our children the values of america, there's one thing to do it while there is so much opposition to the government. anyway, great quote from the register.

"This is because America is not about government mandating uniformity. It is about embracing freedom of thought, and the right to disagree, in a democracy."
from today's globe on the return of a local girl who went on a peace mision to iraq. enlightening, and certainly something the heads in washington need to see.

"But there is a saying among the Iraqis, 'If you have to stand in manure, it might as well be our own manure,' meaning Saddam is theirs to deal with."

cbs news tonite is talking about saddam's retaliatory use of nasty stuff, while displaying pictures of what appears to be chemicals used in those weapons, that were probably taken right after they got those chemicals from american companies. most people i know watching are looking at this with more confidence in the cartel's allegations - allegations which have already proven false - allegations composed solely for the purpose of provoking fear. allegations which the public is believing because 'they saw it on tv'. never underestimate the brainwashability of television.

well, if this season doesn't convince the 'red-alert' unconvinceable that fox is indeed the network of poop, not only because they play ditto-head, and then some, to karl's iron fist, but the fact that joe millionaire, in and of itself is a lie, about a lie, lies to us with this 'tonite's finale' campaign. c'mon folx, faux is just that ... faux.
New York City - Sweeping Away Street Marches
"Mayor Bloomberg and Police Commissioner Kelly are doing the people of New York and the people of Iraq a great service by delaying and obstructing the anti-war protest planned for Feb. 15. The longer they delay in granting the protesters a permit, the less time the organizers have to get their turnout organized and the smaller the crowd is likely to be...[T]he smaller the crowd, the more likely that President Bush will proceed with his plans to liberate Iraq."

ahhhhhh..... the fog lifted. from the new york sun, a paper that charitably can be called conservative. not-so-charitably the poop-de-poopah of broadcast propaganda. fair and balanced? *snort* more like unfair and imbalanced. but i figure i'll try an experiment soon. i'll repeat things enough times that it'll wear down any opposition and conjure the illusion of fact.

the problem isn't that we're not listening. the problem is that YOU'RE not listening, george.

Cries of desperation
Imagine a country ruled by a leader whose rise to power occurred under deeply questionable circumstances. Imagine that this country appointed itself the world’s policeman, threatening another nation with a massive military invasion if that nation did not accede to his demands.

i think the judges on the federal appeals court in st. louie needs some antipsychotic medication themselves. they're obviously insane.

The federal appeals court in St. Louis ruled yesterday that officials in Arkansas can force a prisoner on death row to take antipsychotic medication to make him sane enough to execute.

i feel a great disturbance in the Force
why do people equate supporting our men and women in uniform with supporting an invasion of iraq? seems pretty silly if you ask me.

from my #mindvox log tonite:

[23:10] i swear
[23:10] sitting here listening to bill makes me long for the days when we had some brains and finesse in office

bill, for the first time i can recall, listening to you restored my faith in humanity. i'm talkin to bill clinton if he's out there. missed him earlier and couldnt wait for larry king's weekend show to start since.

there was no bullshit. no politically motivated speeches. refreshing is an understatement ... that one can you get the straight ass shit from a former president, or even active president.... and we have 2 more years before it can be corrected. if then. considering what we're facing this year, god only knows.

BUY ONE AND SHOW YOUR PATRIOTIC SPIRIT
how can anybody argue when the author of those stolen pages as reported in today's nytimes:

"I am surprised, flattered as well, that this information got used in a U.K. government dossier," said the original report's author, Ibrahim al-Marashi, who at the time was a graduate student. "Had they consulted me, I could have provided them with more updated information."

.
ok, i've recovered. got pretty sick listening to the ditto-head 24/7 slamming of our heads with spin coverage of the lies that powell used in his U.N. presentation. by now, it's all over the net about how he plagiarized that 'powerful' and conpelling-enough-to-bleed report. and i'm sure it's also not news that the 'gassing' of the kurds didn't really happen the way we're told. can i say INCUBATOR here and get the point across more vividly?

anyway, so i'm back. more determined than ever to demonstrate in my own way, that there's a stronger message here, that there's a hidden agenda here, and that there is the very real possibility that this is going to be something more than anybody ever believed possible once the bombing starts. almost anybody. more and more are getting the bigger picture. and to those i say, congratulations. you have seen the light.

i'm preparing my next post to center on the chimp's problem with dissent. anti-war is not pro-saddam. anti-war is not anti-american. anti-war is not communist. anti-war means exhausting all else before war. and we have not done that. how can anybody not see that is beyond me. i can tell you however, that there are creatures like that walking around here in iowa. sad aintit.

heartbroken is how i feel.
peace is not an option. it's a requirement.
